The story behind Red Kite Radio
The team behind Red Kite Radio was also behind Summerfest Radio, the short term broadcast to promote the Haddenham Beer Festival, Summerfest.
Summerfest Radio successfully promoted the Summerfest event at Haddenham Community Junior School for four years from 2013-2016. From a portacabin, kindly provided by the Haddenham Garden Centre, we were able to bring hyper-local radio to this area for the first time. Such was the success of Summerfest Radio, in 2015 the team of volunteer radio professionals decided the area could support a full-time station, a station which won’t disappear off the air after two weeks.
Red Kite Radio is brought to you by a team who all have backgrounds in UK commercial radio, including stations in Bucks and Oxon, plus the forces' broadcaster BFBS. Our team includes journalists, presenters, TV continuity announcers, business people and former managers from UK Radio.

Red Kite Radio is a not for profit radio station run for our community by a team of volunteers and two part time employees. They oversee the day-to-day output, present programmes, look after our client supporters and team of enthusiastic volunteers.
Despite being not for profit, Red Kite Radio is professionally run and aims to give Thame and Haddenham a polished radio station which features people and voices from our community. We want to inform and entertain.
In the evening local people will be given the opportunity to present specialist programmes, bringing a whole range of musical genres to the airwaves. Keep listening for details of our up coming training courses.
