Summerfest 2019

in Blog
July 08, 2019

Wow what another great day we had at Summerfest 2019. Didn't the Haddeham Beer Festivals Trust do a great job with organisation and once again surpassed themselves, well done guys.

The beer was great, did anyone try the Red Kite ale?

Thanks to everyone who spoke with our roving reporters Steve and Annie and those who called in to see us at our gazebo. The sun did make a very brief appearance but on the whole it was a pleasant day to say the least weather wise. The bands were great too and well deserved round of applause must go to the sound technicians too.

Looking forward to Winterfest already? then keep listening to Red Kite Radio for news and updates.

HADDENHAM SUMMERFEST

PROBABLY THE BEER FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR

6TH JULY 2019 - 12NOON TO 8PM

This year there will be an even greater selection of ales, lagers, ciders and other surprises! Along with the normal great selection of artisan food and local music. Quite frankly a day out not to be missed.

There’ll be 130 cask ales covering amber and pale through to porters, stouts and milds and they’ll range in strength from 1.5% to 6.8%. 70 of the 130 ales will be from local brewers with the rest coming from as far afield as Somerset, Lancashire, Norfolk and even Scotland

They’ll have 40 ciders many of them local from places like Long Crendon and Chalgrove and they range in strength from 4% to 7.2%

Craft beers, lagers, gins, Pimms and wine will also be available."

Join in the fun with family and friends – there is plenty for kids to do and if you don’t live in Haddenham – no problem just jump on the 280 from either Oxford or Aylesbury – the bus stop is right by the festival or catch the Chiltern Line and get off at Haddenham and Thame Parkway and we are just a short walk away.

The beer festival and all entertainment is sited at Haddenham Youth and Community Centre, Woodways, Haddenham HP17 8DS and is open from 12noon through until 8pm, although last entry is at 6pm.

The live music line up this year is as follows:

12.45pm – Bitterroot
12.30pm – The Zefrons
1.45pm – Bootlegger
2.55pm – The Horse Tornados
4.00pm – Silver
5.10pm – Steve Winch & The Inception

Saturday 9th December was the date for Winterfest from the Haddenham Beer Festival. It ran from midday to 6pm at Banks Park in Haddenham. There was live music, hot and cold food and Winterfest was the last opportunity this year to buy Kirsty’s delicious Scotch Eggs!

All the money raised goes towards local good causes.

Red Kite Radio was there, and we're looking out for the best Christmas Hat – the winner, Bob Bleasdale, with his hat with a flap that pops up to reveal Santa, won a bottle of champagne!
